Dealing with a dental emergency

Here’s what you need to do:


Contact your regular dentist. If you need to see your dentist immediately and it’s after their regular office hours, check their website for an emergency number or after business hours instructions.
If you can’t reach your regular dentist: Sign in to the Delta Dental Virtual Visits Patient Portal or call 866.443.1882 to get started with a Virtual Visit.*



If you are traveling:

  • Find a participating Dentist near you
  • If it’s after hours or you cannot find a dentist able to see you, sign in to the Delta Dental Virtual Visits Patient Portal or call 866.443.1882 to get started with a Virtual Visit.*.


*Delta Dental’s Virtual Visits service is provided by Teledentistry.com. This service is a covered benefit in most Delta Dental of Connecticut plans for currently enrolled members.

Please note that a Virtual Visit is considered to be a “problem-focused exam” (shown as a D0140 procedure code on your Explanation of Benefits) and counts as one of your annual examinations covered by your plan.
