Frequently Asked Questions

Application Process

How do I apply?
Application process closed at 11:59 p.m. on May 15th.

My practice has multiple locations associated with one TIN. Do all locations have to apply for the APP?
No; APP payments are based on individual TINs and are limited to one payment per TIN, so only one application per TIN is required.

My practice has multiple locations associated with one TIN. Do all locations have to enroll in EFT?
Yes; the EFT form allows you to add multiple office locations to a single EFT enrollment.

If approved, do I need to sign an agreement?
Yes; we will forward an agreement for your electronic signature once you are approved. The practice owner must sign the agreement in order to qualify.

How long will it take to receive my advance?
If you are already enrolled in EFT, please allow ten days from our receipt of your signed agreement for your advance to be deposited into your account of record.

If you enrolled in EFT when you applied for the APP, it may take up to 10 business days to process the EFT enrollment before we can proceed with your agreement. Please allow 10 days from our receipt of your signed agreement for your advance to be deposited into your account of record.

The APP payment

How much will I receive?

Your APP payment is calculated based on paid claims you received from us in 2019, not submitted claims, and the amount will be one half of your average 2019 monthly claim payments from us (not to exceed $25,000 per TIN).

For example:
If you participated with us for the full year in 2019 and received $60,000 in paid claims from us, your average monthly payment would be $5,000 ($60,000/12). One half of $5,000 is $2,500, which would be your APP payment.

What are the minimum and maximum payments I could receive?
The minimum APP payment is $1,000 per TIN, and the maximum is $25,000 per TIN.

How will my APP payment be disbursed?
You’ll receive your advance in one lump sum payment paid directly to the practice owner.

Can I request a different amount?
No. If you feel that you do not need your entire advance, you may remit the unneeded portion to us to accelerate your repayment via check to:

Delta Dental of New Jersey
Attn: Vishnu Hariprasad
1639 Route 10
Parsippany, NJ 07054

Please reference your TIN and note that this is a repayment of the APP on the payment remittance.

Will the advance be reported to credit monitoring agencies?
No; we will not report this advance.

Are APP payments taxable income?
For any tax-related questions, we encourage you to consult a tax professional.

Are there any fees associated with the APP?

No; we will not charge any fees nor interest.

Can I request a paper check?
EFT is the only way to receive your advance, as it is the fastest way for us to send your advance to you and eliminates the need for physically processing and handling printed checks during the current health crisis.

How long will I need to stay enrolled in EFT?
You’ll need to remain enrolled in EFT until the loan is paid back; however, we encourage you to continue using EFT, as it is a safe, fast way to be paid.

Will you be able to take money from my bank account if I enroll in EFT?
No; we can only deposit money into your account.

I receive claim payments from other Delta Dentals aside from DDNJ and DDCT. By enrolling in DDNJ or DDCT’s EFT, will I be enrolled in other Delta Dentals’ EFT programs?
No; your EFT enrollment will be with DDNJ or DDCT only.

How will I receive my EOBs?
You will continue to receive your EOBs as you currently do. You may access EOBs online as well. In fact, your new EOBs are made available every Tuesday in advance of your deposit taking place.

Will my current claim, capitation, or ortho continuation payments be affected by my APP payment?
No; any payments owed to you will proceed as normal until we begin the repayment process, which is discussed in the next section.

Repaying the advance

What is the repayment schedule?
On August 1st, you will begin to repay the APP payment from your claim payments. Payments will be completed by November 30th. (This timeframe is dependent upon when dental offices are permitted to provide routine and preventive dental care; as such, it is subject to change.)

How is my weekly repayment calculated?
Each of your weekly repayments will be 10% of your advance payment amount. Using the previous example of an APP payment of $2,500, we would deduct $250 per week for 10 weeks from your claims payments and apply that toward your outstanding advance payment balance.

If your weekly claim payment is $1,500, we will apply $250 to repay your APP payment and send you the balance of $1,250.

What if my future claims payments are less than the weekly repayment amount?
We will not deduct more than 50% of your approved claim payment. Any owed balance will carry over to the next week’s claim payment.

Using the above $250/week repayment example: If your weekly claim payment is $400, we will apply 50%, or $200, to repay your APP payment and send you the balance of $200. The unpaid difference of $50 ($250 scheduled repayment less the $200 actual repayment) will carry over to the following week’s payment, which would then be $300.

Can I make additional payments toward my outstanding advance payment balance?
Yes; additional payments can be made by check to:

Delta Dental of New Jersey
Attn: Vishnu Hariprasad
1639 Route 10
Parsippany, NJ 07054

Please reference your TIN and note that this is a repayment of the APP on the payment remittance.
