DELTA DENTAL OF NEW JERSEY INTRODUCES CARRYOVER MAX THAT LETS MEMBERS KEEP THEIR UNUSED BENEFITS

Delta Dental of New Jersey debuted on July 1 its new Carryover Max^SM benefit package, allowing members to carry over a portion of their unused annual maximum benefits to the next year. This feature will let eligible members accumulate some of their unused benefits from a healthy year to put towards larger, more expensive procedures, such as root canals and crowns, in the future.

"Allowing for flexibility in planning and paying for dental care provides members with the peace of mind to know that they have more benefits for when they need them," said Mark Nadeau, Vice President, Marketing, Delta Dental of New Jersey. "We are pleased to be able to offer this service to enhance the oral healthcare of our members."

Carryover Max members can automatically roll over up to 25 percent of the unused portion of their maximum, up to $500. In order to be eligible, members need to have had at least one dental visit for a cleaning or exam during the benefit year, submitted a claim to Delta Dental and used less than half of the annual maximum amount.

Carryover Max is an option for all fully-insured groups in New Jersey, except groups with union-negotiated benefits, such as boards of education. It is also being offered to self-insured groups in New Jersey on a case-by-case basis.
