Golfers Hit the Greens - and Raise Plenty of Gold - for Special Olympics

Most Special Olympics athletes don’t win huge endorsement deals. They usually aren’t sought after by the manufacturers of sports drinks, sodas, T-shirts, or athletic shoes. But they are just as determined to win as their big-name counterparts. And thanks to Special Olympics New Jersey (SONJ), they have a chance to train, compete, and excel in their sports.

The Nineteenth Annual Delta Dental Classic recently raised $47,000 to support SONJ programs and services. The nonprofit SONJ helps those with mental disabilities become physically fit, productive, and respected members of society through sports training and competition.

Over the past 19 years the Delta Dental Classic has raised more than $714,000 for SONJ.

Winners of the Nineteenth Annual Classic include:
1st Place Low Gross (Women): Dr. Barbara Rich
1st Place Low Gross (Men): Dr. Thomas Paglione
1st Place Gross Team: Dr. Charles Perle, Dr. Thomas Paglione, and William Montanaro
