This Month’s Golf Classic Turns Dreams into Reality for Special Olympians

The Delta Dental Classic on May 27 is more than just a chance to play golf again after a cold, snowy winter. It raises much-needed funds for Special Olympics New Jersey (SONJ).

SONJ provides sports training and athletic competition to children and adults with intellectual disabilities. The organization operates on an annual budget primarily funded through individual, corporate, civic, and foundation dollars that make up more than 98% of the annual operating budget.

All programs are free to registered athletes including insurance, facilities, equipment, uniforms, housing and meals for events, awards, sports, education, and more. In addition to programs offered on the local, county, sectional, and state levels, SONJ offers athletes free participation in all activities at the Special Olympics New Jersey Sports Complex in Lawrenceville, NJ.

Since 1991, the annual Delta Dental Classic has raised more than $667,000 for Special Olympics New Jersey. With your help, the 2009 Classic will be the best one yet!
