How to Find Out Treatment Costs Beforehand

You can find out what Delta Dental will cover for your dental treatment before your dentist starts work. Have your dentist submit a pre-treatment estimate (PTE) of your proposed treatment plan to Delta Dental first.

We'll send your dentist an Explanation of Benefits, which shows what we cover and your costs. Your dentist can even submit your PTE online for a quick answer. Many online PTEs are processed on the spot, including those for partials and dentures, root canals, build ups and post and cores, some crowns, typical restorations (excluding veneers and onlays), implants, and most simple and surgical extractions.

Please note that a PTE is not a guarantee of payment. Your circumstances may change. For example, you could reach your annual maximum between the time your dentist submits the PTE and performs the service. Your coverage could change or be terminated. Or you might decide to see a different dentist for treatment.
